Mona Lisa - 1503
This short film explains why 'Mona Lisa' was so famous and why Duchamp may have chosen it as a target for his Readymade.

This painting is Leonardo da Vinci's . it is famous because it looks like it is looking at you from every angle. The painting was stolen in 1911 from the Louvre in Paris and was found and returned to the museum a year later.
This painting is readymade because Duchamp has altered the painting slightly to make it something different and original. His idea of readymade changed art because it shows that even the slightest details can change the artwork forever. |

Few artists have done so much with the unique virtue of montage… art cannot change the world but while Kennard is still working, there is at least hope.

Beauty standards have always been extremely toxic and are the cause of very big self esteem problems, especially for teenagers. The media portrays the 'perfect female body' as tall (but not too tall) skinny ,hourglass figure, broad shoulders, clear skin and skinny legs. Everyone is born with different body and face features and nobody looks the same way. The media encourages young people to change their bodies and faces to fit today's standard by using makeup, plastic surgery , extreme amounts of working out, and eating very small amounts of food. This is extremely harmful to people because they wake up everyday , go on social media and compare themselves to models that they see, wondering why they don't look like them. Beauty standards are always changing, so you'll never meet societies expectations.
